Lake of the Pines Music Lesson Program has the most comprehensive teaching staff in Nevada and Placer Counties. Teaching over 125 students per week for over four years, LOP Music continues to offer the most well rounded selection of teachers in the foothills. Beginning to advanced lessons are offered in a wide cross section of styles based on your personal desires. Instruments taught include electric and acoustic guitar, bass, piano, keyboard, drums, percussion, voice, violin and viola, brass and reed instruments, mandolin, banjo, dulcimer and harmonica. Year round private and seasonal group lessons are available. In addition, Rockband 101, where you can learn to play in a band and hone your skills of playing together are taught in monthly sessions by pros who do just that themselves. Whatever your level of desire and ability, LOP Music is the place to take your music to the next level.

Gabriel Bingham (Electric and Acoustic guitars and Ukulele)

Music Style: All styles.

Bio: Gabe is a performing, playing and writing guitarist who is studying music at Sierra College in Rocklin. He started playing at the age of six and is accomplished in rock, blues, metal and reggae, not to mention he is both contemporary and traditional in his influences. Gabe shares his love for music with all his students. For the beginner or intermediate player, having fun is a big part of Gabes teaching. He likes it.

Amanda Windle (Piano, Keyboard)

Music Style:Classical and Contemporary. Beg. to Intermediate.

Bio: Beginners and intermediate piano players of any age will learn reading, sight reading, theory and composition. Amanda attended William Jessup University majoring in music with her focus on piano. She performs with a local band doing originals and contemporary popular tunes as well as being on her church worship music team. Her ability to teach to each students level is what makes Amanda unique as she shares her talent.

Kit Bailey (Drums and Percussion)

Music Style:Rock, Jazz, Fusion, Funk, Latin, New Orleans, Celtic, Afro-Cuban, etc etc etc. All levels.

Bio: Worldly by nature, Kit teaches Standard Drumset, stick technique and matched grip. Rudiments, polyrhythms and independence, musical notation and playing by ear. Hand drum playing and tuning are on the list of Kits expertise too. Congas, bongos, timbales, djembes, Xylophones and ethnic percussion instruments are all Kit legal and approved. A rhythm machine.

David Lee (Drums)

Bio: David plays drums. Loves to play drums. He will get you “playin” in your first lesson. Covering many styles, David offers his “come on, let’s play” to everyone. All I can say is “Come ready to PLAY”…..

Marianne Leader (Voice and vocal techniques)

Music Style: All styles. All Levels.

Bio: Marianne is a ball of joy. Her love of singing is so much a part of her, if you do too, she’s the teacher for you. With a background filled with stage and theatre performance, choir and solo, Marianne brings a lifelong talent and her personal passions to offer you much much more than the simple ‘how to sing’ methods and techniques.

Forest Bailey (Electric and Acoustic guitars)

Bio: Forest brings a progressive rock style to his wide range of abilities. He plays in a successful local band Kalima. He is at home with both the beginners and beyond. As a music major at ARC, Forest has much to share and teach you. Just come with the want to, Forest will get you there. Days available: Tuesday, Wednesday

Pete Welty (Acoustic and Electric Guitar)

Music Style: All styles.

Bio: Pete has been playing, writing performing and teaching for over 20 years. His 20 years of background in ministry and youth worship music gives him an added flavor of what he offers to his students. He also teaches our Rockband 101 classes where kids learn how to play together and begin to develop their own music talents and styles. Pete also brings a love of singing too. So, if you want to sing too, Pete will show you how to enjoy and do both. Days available: Tuesday, Wednesday

Joe Souza (Trumpet and Coronet)

Music Style:Traditional, Jazz, New Orleans, Swing. All levels.

Bio: With his strength in music theory, sight reading and performance, Joe is a master at helping the beginning students keep up and many times stay ahead of the curve as they begin their musical adventures in school. Band Director Mr. Phil Richardson at Magnolia Middle School will attest to his value.

Tom Black (Harmonica)

Music Style: All levels.

Bio: Focusing on mainly the 10 hole diatonic harp (sometimes called a blues harp), Tom loves the blues, but he also will teach you to play lovely melodies with his understanding of mouth shape, breathing techniques, posture and tongue positioning. Among the many pearls he will share with you budding harp players, his love of the instrument is one.

Barry Rekoon (Electric and Acoustic Uprite Bass)

Bio: Playing from the age of eight, Barry covers a lot of ground. Rock, jazz, blues, dixieland, cajun, classical…..you name it. His passion as a teacher spans more than 22 years. He is good. Very good.
